The Royal Opera House Muscat unveils its 2025 2026 Season as an elegant celebration of artistry, set against the backdrop of Omani architectural grandeur and featuring some of the world’s most distinguished performances, from breathtaking galas and legendary ballets to opera at its finest. The season opens on December 31, 2025 at 6:30 PM with a New Year concert by the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, founded under Thai Royal Patronage and conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, featuring award winning pianist Behzod Abduraimov in Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and acclaimed violinist Elli Choi performing Alexey Shor’s Violin Concerto No. 5. From January 1 to January 3, 2026, families are invited to Cinderella on Ice, a visually enchanting production blending elegant figure skating, dazzling costumes, and timeless storytelling, followed by the Folk Music Festival on January 8 and January 9, an open air celebration under the stars with guest artists from Kazakhstan, Mexico, Hungary, and Bahrain. Classical highlights continue on January 30 with Beethoven and Liszt’s Ninth Symphony in a special two piano and choir arrangement performed by Hélène Mercier and Louis Lortie, while January 29 and January 31 conclude the month with Puccini’s Tosca, performed by the Orchestra and Chorus of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre under Fabio Mastrangelo.
